We pride ourselves on ensuring you are best equipped for your "Off Grid" vacation.

We, therefore, prefer to use Smart MPPT "Maximum Power Point Tracking devices.  

Our Victron installs are single output (charging your leisure battery only). These are all SmartSolar controllers allowing you to keep track of the power being drawn from your solar energy solutions using your Smartphone via Bluetooth technology.

Our Photonic Universe installs are all dual output (charging your leisure & engine battery) PLEASE NOTE. These are available with bluetooth, or an external screen at extra costs.

The advantage of this, is

• You can track in real time the power charge you are pulling in for your leisure batteries,

• Early fault detection,

• Allows a panel array to be of higher voltage than the battery bank. This is relevant for areas with low irradiation or during winter with fewer hours of sunlight,

• They provide an increase in charging efficiency up to 25% compared to PWM.

Please note, that if you are having a Solar System installation from us, you will have an Victron MPPT included within the package. If you prefer to have an alternative, please feel free to request.

If you have your own Mppt or PWM and wish for us to install it, we can offer this service.  We cannot warranty the appliance but we can warranty the install for 1 year.

Size of MPPT you require, will depend on the size of the Solar Panels that you have.

​

How to calculate.

​

Take the power produced by the solar panels and divide by the voltage of the batteries.

For example: if you have a solar array of 200w panels then divide that by 12v (as this is your leisure battery) this would give you a return of 16.66amps. You would therefore need a 20amp regulator.

 

We will always calculate the size of regulator you will require during the assessment process to ensure you are getting the correct size MPPT for your energy set up.
